PSX (Playstation emulation)

Getting Started ( what is PSX emulation )
So you want to emulate the emulator's emulator? ( which files you need )
Assembling the Files ( what to do after you've downloaded the files )

If you haven't heard the word emulation before you might think it's a sophisticated new expression used in the 21st century about some high tech gizmo that has to do with computers or technology. Well that's only half true.

You see emulation has been out for a while,

emulate v attempt to equal or suprass by imatiting

That's the standard defenition of it. As you would find it in your dictionary, but in the current context of what I'm talking about now ( Playstation emulation ), this would be a better explanation:

emulate: allow your computer to play games for other systems, such as PS, N64 and Gameboy etc.

However, here I would just like to talk about Playstation emulation and what it's about and what it means to you.

Getting Started

Firstly if you all ready have a PSX it doesn't mean that a Playstation emulator is useless to you.

You see playing Playstation games on the computer has its disadvantages ( such as having to use your keyboard instead of your controller ) there are also advantages, below are some advantages and disadvantages of a PS emulator:

Advantages:

1) Better graphics and resolution for your games
2) Able to save anywhere
3) Don't need to buy a PSX ( even though they're only $10, YOU CHEAP BASTARD!!! )

Disadvantages

1) Games sometimes stuff up
2) Some games not as fun playing on keyboard
3) More tiring for your eyes
4) You look like a cheap cunt that can't afford the real thing ( Playstation )

Playstation emulators are free and there are quite a few around but I can't be fucked to go through all of them so I will just talk about the one I currently have which fulfills all my needs beatifully.

So you want to Emulate the Emulator's Emulator?

Emulators are suprisingly small, the one I have is only about uhm... hold on...

...

...

271Kb. That's about the size of a small web site image. So really it shouldn't be a problem to download, even with Lance's 56k connection.

However besides the emulator you will also need some files, these files are listed below:

File Name: Description: Size:
ePSXe ( PS emulator ) Emulates Playstation! 271kb
scph-1001 Special driver from Sony 287kb
Graphic & sound plugin Special file to render Plastation games 498kb
  Total: 1.056MB

At a total of 1.056MB it's not a real space hogger.

Note: these files are zipped up when you download them, the complete executable for the emulator ( no compression ) is 9.19MB.

Luckily for you, you don't have to go and hunt all these files down, instead you can download them from me at a small charge of only $2. Hahahaha. Man, that was funny. No I'm just joking, it's free.

Here are links to the files you will need, extract them all to the same folder ( preferabbly an empty folder ) in your computer such as C:\PlaysationEmulator.

ePSXe zip file

scph-1001 driver

Graphic & sound plugin

Assembling the Files

Once you put the files above in the PlaystationEmulator folder, or whatever folder you wish, you have to extract them into their correct positions, follow the next steps carefully because if you don't do it right you get bashed.

1) Extract the ePSXe.zip file into the PlaystationEmulator folder.

2) Extract the scph-1001 driver into the PlaystationEmulator\bios folder ( this folder would have been created automatically when you extracted ePSXe.zip ).

3) Extract the Graphics & Sound plugin into the PlaystationEmulator\plugins folder.

4) Start up the program by clicking on ePSXe ( the icon that looks like a blue controller ).

5) When you start it should automatically detect all you settings. Otherwise click on Config > Video and the rest you should figure out for yourself.

That is all, for now, I will leave you with a pic of Medal of Honor.
